Our research team analyzes thousands of companies of all sizes and industries to develop the index. From that, a list of 8,000 finalists is identified and further scrutinized. The top 4,000 companies will become certified as a Best of Best Practice company, and the top 1000 will be published in a special issue of Newsweek Magazine in early 2024 as the Newsweek Excellence Index 1000.

Data is collected from publicly available data, company-provided data, and interviews with company representatives, executives, employees, and customers.

If you are named a finalist, a certified Best In Best Practice Company, or included on the Excellence Index 1000, your organization’s scores show above benchmark and exemplary performance in the areas of Employee rating, Customer rating, ESG risk rating, ESG/Ethical impact, Adherence to ISO standards, R&D spending, Global Compact Status, Financial performance, BBB Rating and Accreditation, and Number of customer complaints, among others.
