Supported the WVU Sustainability office through engagement with the committee, interaction with guest speakers from the WVU Energy Institute and state delegate Evan Hansen. Questions concerning teaching focused on “sustainability focused” and sustainability inclusive courses. To count as sustainability-focused, the course title or description must indicate a primary and explicit focus on sustainability. Sustainability-inclusive courses or “sustainability-related courses” are courses that incorporate a unit or module on sustainability or a sustainability challenge, includes one or more sustainability-focused activities, or integrates sustainability challenges, issues, and concepts throughout the course. Worked to establish partnerships with other WVU initiatives, such as the WVU Food Garden, to address food waste and food insecurity on campus. More work is needed in this endeavor.
