Since 2009 WeTransfer has been helping people share their creative ideas. We believe creative thinking changes the way we see the world, and so we develop tools to get people into their flow – that strange and beautiful state where everything comes together and the best work happens. Today, 42 million people in 195 countries share ideas using WeTransfer. We are constantly developing new products, as well as rethinking what our current platforms can be, and can do. Our founders originally worked in design, media and marketing; today we’re lucky to be working with the most creative minds in branding, sales, design, support and engineering Mission: WeTransfer is a file transfer service first and foremost. It was built to get files from A to B with no hassle, no stress and no charge. But it is much more than that. At its heart is a global exhibition of creative talent.

Alongside its commitment to the creative community, WeTransfer strives to have a positive impact on social and environmental issues—balancing people, planet, and profit. Corporate governance is not only part of the company’s DNA, but a driver for its success. That’s why, in March 2020, WeTransfer became one of the very few global tech companies to be awarded B Corp status. As a certified B Corporation™, the organization supports issues such as climate change by maintaining a climate neutral status and aiming to reduce its carbon footprint by 30% by 2025. The company is also focused on promoting diversity and inclusion, as well as championing employee mental health. WeTransfer’s Supporting Act Foundation is classed as an independent charity in the Netherlands, but has the ability to operate across a wider geography including the US, UK, Italy, France, and Germany, with the potential to expand to other countries in the future. WeTransfer endowed the foundation with an initial €1 million and will commit 1% of its revenue on an annual basis. The first of these contributions will be in 2023, based on 1% of 2022 revenues. The Supporting Act provides funding to aspiring creatives including artists, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, and designers. It also provides a series of grants, offering awards for work that aligns with WeTransfer’s B Corp values of sustainability, responsibility, and inclusivity. The foundation will also oversee an annual prize, the WeTransfer Award for Creative Excellence.
