Timbuk2 was born in 1989 in a garage in San Francisco’s Mission District and raised on the backs of urban nomads who were passionate about gear that’s built to outsmart the city. We live here. We manufacture here. We recycle here. We give a damn and are committed to urban progress in all of the cities we touch. At Timbuk2, we find the balance between staying true to our rugged bike messenger roots while remaining inspired to innovate by the challenges of the urban landscape. We geek out over every fabric, stitch, seam, and zipper. We obsess over form, fit and finish. Getting it right the first time, ensures it lasts a lifetime. Thirty years later, and we’re still taking meaningful risks, building quality bags, and giving a damn about the world around us with a keen eye on the past and the future, because Timbuk2 was never about bags. It was about what the bags made possible: our community.

We’ve carried a passion for making things better — and you can carry it, too. Sustainability is more of a journey than a destination. And we hope the steps we take are always in the right direction. While we continue to grow our collections of bags made from recycled pre- and post-consumer materials, there are other ways we can leave a smaller footprint — like 100% recycled and recyclable shipping bags, manufacturing more bags closer to home to reduce emissions, and partnering with suppliers who helps us create products that require less water, use fewer chemicals, and promote fair and ethical labor.
