We are committed to helping our communities and our planet through more sustainable packaging and recycling practices, environmentally friendly restaurants, and responsible sourcing. 100% Recycled Fibre Napkins – New napkins will be used across our Canada and United States restaurants that are made of 100% recycled fibre, including 90% post-consumer content. The new napkins use 25% less material than before saving an estimated 900 tonnes of paper in the next year. Recyclable Sandwich Packaging – New recyclable sandwich packaging will be introduced in our Canadian restaurants that will utilize a kraft paper material. Phase out Plastic Straws – Plastic straws will be phased out of Canadian restaurants, removing more than 300 million single use plastics in the next year. Compostable Cup Liner Pilot – Pilot project launched at select Vancouver restaurants with the aim of introducing a paper cup that has a recyclable and compostable liner. Tim Hortons continues to work with key stakeholders in industry and government to ensure the cup is accepted within municipal programs.
