Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital treats patients on an inpatient basis (patients stay overnight for several days or even weeks) or on an outpatient basis (patients come for a treatment or an appointment at a specific time, then return home). Whether someone is inpatient or outpatient at Sunnyview is often determined by what point they are at on their healing journey. Patients who have just been discharged from another hospital will come often directly to Sunnyview, sometimes in an ambulance or patient transport van, and stay as an inpatient at first. Patients who are dealing with problems that developed while living at home, and have not been recently hospitalized, will probably see our team members on an outpatient basis.
