St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is a luxury hotel chain, owned and managed by Marriott International. In 1904, John Jacob Astor built the St. Regis New York as a sister property to his part-owned Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Exhibiting luxury and technological advance, each room had its own telephone. Ownership changes, a new wing, and restorations occurred over the following decades. In 1966, Sheraton Hotels purchased the property.[1] After an extensive restoration in 1991, the hotel became the flagship for the Sheraton premier hotels rebranded as the ITT Sheraton Luxury Collection. In 1998, Starwood acquired the Sheraton brand,[3] and created a new St. Regis brand.[4] In September 2016, Marriott gained the St. Regis chain as part of its acquisition of Starwood.[5] The brand name cannot be used in the lower mainland of British Columbia, because the name is legally owned by the independent St. Regis Hotel, Vancouver, built in 1913.

Social Responsibility starts with St Regis. We understand the importance of corporate social responsibility, and St Regis is working to be a part of the solution. We recognize the internal and external changes that need to be made to benefit all parties of our industry. St Regis is committed to preserving the environment, from internal production and packaging innovation, to partnering with suppliers that share the same values. We have worked with a leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)/Sustainability partner to verify St Regis Group’s sustainability program utilizing an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Framework. From measuring our carbon footprint to increasing our circular economy, St Regis Group is a leader in responsible corporate citizenship. With eco-friendly products made with bamboo to vegan leather, we take pride in having many options for our customers. Some products made with recycled content are verified by the Global Recycled Standard. To validate and progress our commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship, St Regis has completed both the EcoVadis and Higg Facility Environmental Modul (FEM) assessments. These assessments provide us with valuable insights into our environmental performance, ethical operations, and social responsibility, allowing us to identify areas for improvement and implement meaningful changes. By continuously evaluating and benchmarking our performance, we can identify industry best practices and strive to exceed them. St Regis firmly believes in the power of sustainable practices to create a better future, and we are committed to being accountable for our actions. Through these assessments, we can validate our efforts, drive continuous improvement, and ensure that our customers can trust us as a reliable partner in sustainability. Our risk and compliance team work closely with the purchasing team to ensure all products are responsibly sourced. We conduct current and effective due diligence measures for approving and maintaining all suppliers. Social audits, supplier due diligence questionnaires, and China-local staff all ensure our suppliers are manufacturing safe and responsibly made products for your valuable customers. St Regis gives back to the community by partnering with local charities like the Hampers of Hope with Unionville Alliance Church, which delivers food donations during Christmas time to families in need living in our community. And more recently partnered with Kits for a Cause, an organization that helps connect charities across North America with companies like St Regis Group looking to get involved, give back, and make an impact. We have an emphasis on employee wellness, which is why we celebrate wins and impactful days such as Earth Day, Employee Appreciation Week, National Pet Day & more! In addition, we present annual awards including a Humanitarian award that recognizes staff members who go above and beyond in their community.
