In addition, Amalgamated Sugar produces beet pulp, molasses, and other beet byproducts for use by food and animal-feed manufacturers. The company’s roots reach back to 1915. Since 1997 Amalgamated Sugar has been owned by the Snake River Sugar Company, a cooperative composed of sugar beet growers in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
