Seminis doesn’t put up with any bad seeds. Seminis is the world’s largest developer, grower, and marketer of vegetable seeds. Some of its seeds are genetically engineered to be disease and insect resistant; some are plain old hybrids. The company sells vegetable and fruit seeds under primary brands Asgrow, Petoseed, Royal Sluis, and Seminis. Its customers include growers, dealers, distributors, and wholesalers in about 150 countries worldwide. Seminis has 1.5 million breeding lines and produces more than 3,000 commercial seed varieties. It operates some 20 seed labs, has R&D operations in more than 15 countries, and produces seed in 25 countries. Seminis is a subsidiary of Monsanto Company.
