We are pleased to present Seagen’s second annual Corporate Responsibility Report: Discovering, Transforming, Empowering. This report outlines key performance highlights, milestones, and future commitments to help create a more sustainable future for our employees, the communities we serve, and ultimately patients in need. We are proud of our progress this year in our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts, which are an integral component of our business operations. Our core mission centers around improving the lives of people with cancer through cutting-edge scientific innovation and transformative cancer therapies. This guides our organization and employees as we look to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Culture is of paramount importance at Seagen. Our diverse workforce is committed and engaged in their work, which allows us to bring our mission to life and make a meaningful impact in cancer care. We strive to empower our employees to develop their careers and work to retain our talented workforce through an inclusive and inspiring culture. Seagen’s goal of protecting our patients, communities, and employees is linked to our commitment to protect our environment. Board and committees may engage outside advisors independent of management. Corporate governance guidelines formalize the consideration of diversity factors for director nomineesIn 2021, we implemented two pilot programs to grow our strong, diverse talent pipeline. We partnered with Shoreline Community College to create the Biotechnology Career Pathway Program, which enables students to complete a 10-week certificate course, followed by an 8-week paid apprenticeship at a Seagen manufacturing site. Seagen covers the cost of the certificate and textbooks for students accepted into the program, removing the financial barrier to entry for disadvantaged students. The program helps develop Seagen’s biomanufacturing early talent pipeline as participants are assessed for opportunities to work full-time upon completion of the program. To achieve our vision of building a lasting company focused on serving patients, we must be dedicated to operating our company at all times with ethics and integrity. The Seagen Inc. Code of Conduct and Business Ethics Guide (“the Code”) is our statement of the core principles that guide our actions and business. Obeying laws and regulations is just the starting point: integrity, honesty, and ethics should be constant considerations in everything that we do. Although laws and customs will vary in different locations where we may operate, our basic ethical responsibilities are global. Each of us must strive every day to maintain our awareness of the Code’s guidance and to comply with the principles and intentions embodied in it to the best of our abilities.
