Schnitzer was founded in 1968 by the dentist Dr. Schnitzer, who made the wholefood philosophy accessible to large parts of the population through literature and products. Already since 1996 Schnitzer offers durable organic bakery products; at first exclusively wholefood. In 2002, the first expansion took place: A separate gluten-free organic production facility was put into operation. The second expansion took place in 2014/2015. A new production facility was built and put into operation at the end of 2015. Since then, 70 different gluten-free recipes developed in-house have been produced there on a total of 7,000 square meters – with IFS Food (Higher Level) certification.

We are a medium-sized company that has existed since the late 1960s and is constantly growing with a traditional company philosophy. We produce in a modern bakery in the sunny southwest of Germany. We still value a high level of craftsmanship. That’s why many master bakers and journeymen work in our production. The company has been dealing with healthy eating issues related to grains for more than half a century. But Schnitzer is a pioneer not only in the food sector, but also in the sector of household grain mills and flakers.
