Quantum EQT’s ESG program rests on two pillars: through our own performance as a company, employer, and through our role as an active owner, continuously identifying ESG risks ensuring they are appro- priately addressed and documented throughout our diligence and pre-investment decision-making. We believe the processes underlying these two pillars better position company management teams and our investment professionals to improve performance on ESG issues. Furthermore, each of our portfolio sectors assess their own ESG considerations, as it is shown further below in our portfolio overview. As part of our role as investors, we expect our portfolio companies to implement strong ESG practices that are congruent with our principles while being suitable and responsive to their business requirements and comply- ing with internal KPI’s set to follow up on settled milestones. Our approach in each case reflects the nature of the asset or business, although the objectives in each case reflect a responsible approach to the relevant ESG considerations. Quantum EQT, in addition to having expectations on the portfolio companies’ adherence to our governing doc- uments, including the Code of Conduct, actively encourages co-operation and dialogue based on the statutes and agreements governing working life. However, day-to-day informal exchanges and interaction built on mu- tual trust, openness, and respect plays an even greater role, and form the foundation for cooperation on de- velopment, productivity and improvement. Furthermore, Quantum EQT effectively implemented a four-stage process in its investment decision-making method when analyzing ESG frameworks: Screening, due diligence investment decision and asset/capital management.
