The first Pick Up Stix® restaurant was opened in 1989 in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., by Charles Zhang, a Chinese immigrant who arrived in the U.S. in 1982. His concept called for a quick-casual Chinese restaurant that satisfied American consumers’ demand for fast, high-quality Chinese food that was wok’d fresh (cooked-to-order). The concept succeeded and today Pick Up Stix is a leader in the quick-casual dining segment with over nearly 100 Pick Up Stix locations in California, Nevada and Arizona.
