We encourage our guests to join our efforts and take part in the simple and practical actions we undertake to help protect our valuable resources FOOD & BEVERAGE | WE ACTIVELY: Reduce our carbon footprint by sourcing local food and beverages as often as possible. Offer a “farm-to-table” culinary experience with over 80% of the food** we serve sourced locally and organically. Reduce the use of plastic water bottles for meetings and events with the use of water dispensers. Serve sustainability and ethically sourced. Stance Coffee at Velvet Joe’s Coffee House RECYCLING | WE ACTIVELY:. Print on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified or recycled paper whenever possible. Reduce the use of paper within our organization by converting processes to paperless systems. Reduce the use of paper by offering a digital daily newspaper to our guests. Recycle leftover toiletries and soap through Clean the World AIR | WE ACTIVELY: Work with partners to reduce our carbon footprint for procurement activities. Plant trees for major milestones ENERGY | WE ACTIVELY: Utilize energy-efficient LED light bulbs. Remind associates to reduce HVAC usage. Offer key card or motion controlled electricity in guest rooms and meeting spaces. Encourage staff to use mass transportation and/or carpooling options. Offer electric vehicle charging stations and bicycle parking. WATER | WE ACTIVELY: Reduce laundry services by changing bed linens and towels every three days, unless requested otherwise. Utilize low flow toilets and showers. Landscape with native and low-water plants. Offer a water bottle refill station in our Fitness Center and infused water in the resort lobby daily. Use reclaimed water to irrigate golf courses and water plants SUSTAINABLY AUSTIN | WE ACTIVELY: Offer local tours and activities to guests. Invite local artists to perform live music and display their talents. Develop resort programming and activities with local Austin vendors and partners. Work with local food and beverage partners. Sell goods created by local artisans at Velvet Joe’s Coffee House. Share our Texas culture through the resort’s artwork and our Texas hospitality
