There are actually two stars in this steakhouse constellation. Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon owns and operates about 110 steakhouse restaurants in more than 30 states, mostly in the Southeast. The casual dining spots serve mesquite-grilled steaks, ribs, chicken, and fish dishes and are punctuated by Texas paraphernalia, neon beer signs, and country music. In addition to its flagship chain, the company runs the Texas Land & Cattle Steak House chain, which has about 30 locations in Texas and five other states. Started in 1992, Lone Star Steakhouse is owned by Dallas-based private equity firm Lone Star Funds.
