We’ve adopted a fully virtual and flexible work environment that lets employees decide when and where they’re most productive. Our team works to make the world a more vibrant and creative place. We give them time and space to enjoy it. As of April 2022, we’re currently experimenting with a four-day workweek (Monday through Thursday, 32 hour work week with no reduction in pay) and new asynchronous work practices. Mission: Our mission is to help bring creative projects to life. We believe that art and creative expression are essential to a healthy and vibrant society, and the space to create requires protection. We don’t want art world elites and entertainment executives to define our culture; we want creative people—even those who’ve never made anything before—to take the wheel. We help creators connect directly with their communities, putting power where it belongs.

When Kickstarter became a Public Benefit Corporation in 2015, we included our planet as one of the stakeholders we consider when making decisions. Being an environmentally conscious company is something we’ve baked right into our charter. Our commitment to the environment has to start at home, right where we live and work. To that end, Kickstarter has: been certified since 2019 as Climate Neutral, which means we measure our carbon emissions, purchase carbon credits to offset our carbon footprint, and implement plans to further reduce our future emissions; transitioned to 100 percent renewable energy for our office and reduced the carbon footprint for our cloud computing utilization by 14 percent; joined B Labs Net Zero 2030 commitment, standing with and supporting the community of B corps who are leading the way to become more sustainable (Kickstarter is already a Net Zero organization via its certification by Climate Neutral); and donated over 700 lbs of redundant tech equipment in 2020 via the Revivn project to benefit Digital Girl, Inc, Refugee Transitions, and Women’s Prison Association.
