Hana Bank is one of the leading banking companies in South Korea, behind Shinhan Financial Group, Kookmin Bank, and Woori. The flagship company of Hana Financial Group, the bank offers commercial and retail banking, private banking, insurance, trust services, and currency exchange services through more than 900 branches. Subsidiary Hana Capital provides auto leasing and installment financing. Group subsidiaries include Daehan Investment and Securities, Hana IB Securities, Hana Life Insurance (a joint venture with German insurer Allianz), and Qingdao International Bank. Hana Bank bought Lone Star Funds’ 51% stake in Korea Exchange Bank; the deal boosted Hana Bank’s market share in its home country.

Hana Financial Group proactively established the Hana ESG Impact Framework in 2022. The Framework measures the Group’s overall ESG impact, especially in monetary terms, in line with global standards. From measuring two affiliates (Hana Financial Group and Hana Bank) in the first year, the valuation this year has expanded to include four affiliates (Hana Financial Group, Hana Bank, Hana Securities, and Hana Card) and three public welfare foundations. We plan to continue to expand the scope of our impact valuation. Hana Financial Group aims to fulfill its responsibilities as a financial group and realize “shared growth and happiness in finance” by establishing an enterprise-wide ESG impact management system and strengthening its performance.
