Green Plains’ focus on sustainability results in the following impacts: Less expensive, cleaner-burning, renewable biofuel alternatives for consumers in the United States and abroad. Progress in meeting the world’s growing dietary demands with sustainable high-protein, plant-based feeds. Reduction of deforestation for agricultural purposes through the use of sustainably farmed and locally sourced corn. Reduction in the practice of feeding animals to animals and overfishing our oceans by instead using annually renewable crops in feed formulations. Replacement of harmful, fossil-based materials with renewable, more environmentally friendly alternatives
