Claim Jumper Restaurants owns and operates about 45 casual dining restaurants in more than half a dozen states, mostly in California, that are popular for family dining. The chain offers a menu heavy on meat and potatoes that also includes sandwiches, seafood, and a variety of appetizers. A few of its restaurant locations also offer catering services. Craig Nickoloff opened the first Claim Jumper restaurant in 1977. Weighed down by debt, the company filed for bankruptcy protection in 2010. Claim Jumper was then acquired by an affiliate of multi-concept dining operator Landry’s Restaurants. Landry’s manages the chain for its affiliate.
