Soil is our producers most valuable asset. We want to maximize the productivity of our grower’s soils with a focus on profitability and long-term soil health. This means a focus on soil fertility, organic matter, soil organisms, and crop rotation. CVA provides inputs that are certified for organic production to help organic crop producers maximize yields while maintaining long term soil health. We also purchase organic grains. We understand that many consumers place great value on organically produced products, and we want to help our growers access this market. Many companies and consumers are concerned with climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. We assist our growers in tracking their cropping practices to show lower greenhouse gas emissions and/or carbon sequestration. Emphasis is on reduced tillage, cover crops, and increased nitrogen use efficiency.
