Barberitos does things differently…fresh is not an abstract idea. Produce is delivered daily, salsa, marinades and dressings are made every morning, meats are char-grilled as needed, and all food is made right in front of your eyes, to your specifications. We also do franchising differently. In an industry where “site only” franchise agreements are the norm, we offer protected areas. Most franchises do not provide performance data in their federal disclosures. We do! Many franchises do not even operate any of their own concepts so they don’t fully understand what franchisees have to deal with. No ivory tower thinking here…our founder and CEO is a multi-unit franchisee. This means every decision we make corporately affects him personally. And our #1 focus is our franchise partners profitability. What good are increased sales if it doesn’t transfer to the bottom line?

We make all of our delicious food right in front of you just the way you want it, but there’s nothing fast about what goes on behind the scenes. Everything from our hand-smashed guacamole to our marinades is made in house. We chop the vegetables daily, we grate our cheese by hand, and we fry the chips and prepare our salsas fresh every single day. While the concept is quick-serve, that speed is only possible because we put so much time in before you walk through our doors. And we have no intention of ever changing that. Because our mission is to serve the freshest, tastiest burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos and salads known to man. That takes hard work, patience and absolutely no compromises. We understand how difficult it can be to eat healthy foods. That’s partly what appealed to Downing when he first discovered mission-style burritos: they were good for you, but they were also delicious. So we designed our menu to give you the best of both worlds. Our health-minded menu features seven meals that are under 300 calories and contain 6 or fewer grams of fat. And we don’t use preservatives or add fat in any of our food. In addition, we offer many gluten-free options, including our burrito bowls and salads. After all, we believe that taking care of yourself and enjoying a meal shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.
