At Avocado, we continue to discover what’s possible. In addition to making progress on our zero waste commitment, we also introduced blockchain technology into our supply chain for added trust and transparency, reduced company emissions, started using recycled paper packaging, and helped usher in the most robust climate change legislation in American history. In 2022, B Corp named Avocado a Best For the World™ company in the “community” category because of our extensive charitable giving and donation programs. A few months later, Fast Company recognized Avocado on its list of “Brands that Matter” because of our commitment to raising the bar for corporate sustainability. The woodshop team ran with it, and, in June, we launched our Zero Waste Collection, which includes a coffee table, stool, accent table, vase, entryway table, bench, and side table made with upcycled scraps. The effort is part of Avocado’s goal to be the first mattress company to achieve its Zero Waste to Landfill Certification by diverting more than 80% of our waste from the landfill — and to be one of the most sustainable companies on Earth.
