Aqua America, Inc. (Aqua America) is the holding company for regulated utilities providing water or wastewater services in Pennsylvania, Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Indiana, Virginia, Maine, and Georgia. During the year ended December 31, 2011, Aqua America’s operating subsidiary, Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc. (Aqua), accounted for approximately 56% of its operating revenues. Its other subsidiaries provide services in 11 other states. In March 2014, the Company announced that it completed has purchased four water systems and a wastewater system in three separate acquisitions. In March 2014, the Company’s subsidiary Aqua Pennsylvania Wastewater acquired the wastewater assets of Penn Township, Chester County. In May 2014, Aqua America Inc’s Illinois subsidiary purchased assets of McHenry Shores Water Company in the City of McHenry, Illinois.
