At APTIM, sustainability is about following through on our commitments to our teammates, our communities, our clients, our partners, and our planet. At APTIM, ESG is not just the acronym of the day. A commitment to strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles is part of our corporate culture and mission. The concept of environmental and social responsibility is deeply embedded in one of the foundational documents that guides our day-to-day interactions, the Commitment Compass. This guiding framework encourages our team members to follow through on their commitments, and it underscores the impact we create for our teammates, clients, and communities. From safety to diversity, equity, and inclusion, our cultural values empower us to make a difference each day as we build a better world for tomorrow.In pursuit of our ESG goals, we joined the global community as members of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, an initiative to align operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted principles related to human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. Members also promise to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals. APTIM has also committed to cut our 2022 carbon footprint in half by 2030, a target that will be formally verified and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. The latest climate science from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change shows it is still possible to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celcius if we work collectively to halve emissions by 2030, and we strive to support that mission through our company operations.
