With the support of third-party energy consultants, Ameris Bank continually assesses our carbon footprint with the goal of reducing the bank’s energy consumption. In 2022, Ameris implemented energy-efficient LED lighting in all bank-owned locations. The bank also continues to convert thousands of customers to e-statements, online banking, mobile banking and other digital offerings. Ameris Bank and its teammates passionately give time, talents and resources to support our communities, with efforts focused on financial literacy, housing affordability, and the overall health and wellbeing of community members. In 2022, Ameris introduced the Down Payment Grant Program, committing $10 million to providing eligible first-time homebuyers up to $12,500 each to put toward a mortgage down payment and closing costs. Throughout 2022, Ameris made homeownership a reality for more than 12,000 buyers, which includes 6,540 first-time homebuyers and 2,865 served through VA, FHA or USDA programs.
