Adventist Health Lodi Memorial is one of the region’s premier nonprofit healthcare providers that encompasses a hospital, medical practice locations and wellness programs. Since we opened our doors in 1952, we have been committed to those who seek our care. Through the decades, Lodi Memorial became not just a hospital, but a pillar for the surrounding community and the people whose pasts and families are intertwined with the organization. In the decades since we opened, our healthcare organization has expanded remarkably. What was known as Lodi Memorial Hospital for four decades is now Adventist Health Lodi, a system that encompasses not just a full-functioning hospital, but the vast scope of services available throughout Lodi and surrounding communities Surgery, maternity, intensive care, medical care and emergency services have always been key services available at Adventist Health Lodi, but in recent years, the organization has grown to operate five primary care medical practices, a free outreach clinic and 10 specialty medical practices.

Lodi Memorial leadership and wellness team members worked with Lodi Unified School District in 2017 to create the new program that launches in 2018. FLIP will take place in four schools, twice per week during the spring and fall terms. Around 400 students will participate, and the program will feature nutritional education, kid-friendly cooking classes and fun fitness activities taught by professional fitness coaches. An additional element of the programming will introduce children to career opportunities available to them if they remain in school. Our FLIP community partners are the Lodi Unified School District and the G. O. T. Kids Foundation. Lodi Memorial’s support of activities and services to help the Hispanic community was furthered in 2017 by partnering with El Concilio, a nonprofit organization focused on support of the Hispanic community through intentional programs for family health and well-being. Adventist Health Lodi Memorial provided a sponsorship at their 2017 annual gala in November. In 2017, Adventist Health Lodi Memorial started a new program called Diabetes Among Friends – offered in both English and Spanish. And in addition to holding classes at the hospital, the programs are held at the Lodi Seventh-day Adventist Spanish Church and at the Lodi Library, meeting participants closer to where they live and work. The program covers diabetes education including medications, nutrition and activity and includes a train-the-trainer program, which is designed to train students to become teachers. Compelled by our mission to live God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope, we will transform the health experience of our communities by improving physical, mental and spiritual health; enhancing interactions; and making care more accessible and affordable. Adventist Health’s mission statement of Living God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope is coupled with a vision to transform the health experience of our communities through collaborative programs, community investments and community outreach. We are inspired by the healing ministry as represented by the life of Jesus Christ and believe we are called to live out our mission intentionally in the communities we serve. In the small towns, suburbs and inner cities we serve, we continue our journey to provide quality healthcare until every person made in God’s image has experienced the best health today, hope for tomorrow, and God’s love that endures forever.
